Urbane Gospel Choir Concert
April 26, 2008
We enjoyed a powerful night of song called "Threads of the Tapestry" Friday April 25, 2008. The Urbane Gospel Choir and Gordito Frito Latin Jazz Band both from Pocono Mountain School District with special guests The Gospel Knights from Mt. Vernon, New York. The groups performed original and standards with all the excitement of a Gospel Church service. As the school year is coming to an end and the kids look forward to some time off we look forward to hearing them next year.

April 19, 2008
David Leisner gave the final concert of the inaugural year of our Northeaster Pennsylvania Classical Guitar Society. David performed peices of Heitor Villa-Lobos, Mertz, performed his own arrangements of Scott Joplin and Bach as well as performed for the second time in public his original composition "Labyrinths". David brought to a close a fantastic first year of the NEPACGS and has given us the hope of more fantastic musicians in the years to come.
April 12, 2008 Master Class
April 15, 2008
Another full house for our only in house Master Class this month here at Love The Arts! School of Music. Our next two Master Classes will be field trips to see David Leisner on Friday April 18th and then Urbane Gospel Choir on Friday April 25th. Please contact Philip or Kim for more information at 570-451-0248 or LoveTheArts@verizon.net.
Our Master Class brought even to my surprise an impromptu duet of "Michael, Row The Boat Ashore" from Gloria on Autoharp and voice and Mary on guitar. Fantastic job ladies! As well as a solo from Allie Rainey on a Renaissance piece.
We had fun with our group playing on the Renaissance piece "Hey, Ho, Nobody Home" after studying about the Renaissance time period. Our piece was played as a round and was the first time for many to play a round with eight instruments and voice. We also did some rhythmic notation with the use of teoría - theory on the web - find the link on our links page. A big thanks to Mrs. Mancini for cooking on the grill for us.
This semesters Master Classes will wrap up in May so be sure to join us for some fun. Don't forget to...
