February 2010 Student of the Month - Kody Fitzgerald

Kody Fitzgerald has been studying piano for 5 months at Love The Arts! School of Music under the instruction of Mr. Philip Mancini. Kody is 11 years old and a 5th grade student at Whittier Elementary in Scranton. He is a member of Cub Scout Pac 16 and recently placed 1st place in the Webelos division and 2nd place overall in the Pinewood Derby. Kody is a Pokémon fanatic and his favorite song is the Pokémon Theme Song. Kody performed in the 2009 Love The Arts! School of Music Christmas Concert and will perform in an upcoming school talent show.

Robert Wormuth, a guitar student at Love The Arts! School of Music, is the Silver Medal Winner in the 2009-2010 PTA Reflections Program. The PTA Reflections Program is an annual arts recognition program that allows students worldwide to show off their artistic skills in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts. Robert won a gold ribbon for his music entry in his school, Old Forge Elementary, and then the silver medal in the multiple school competition against students in the Mid Valley and Valley View school districts. He also entered his photography into the visual arts category and won 3 gold ribbons in his school and 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in the multiple school competition. His entries will move on to the Regional/State level for competition. Robert will be honored at a banquet for all winners on March 7th at Fiorelli's in Peckville.
January 2010 Student of the Month - Mark Snyder

Mark Snyder is aguitar and voice student; he has been studying under Mr. Mancini at Love The Arts! School of Music for 3 months. Mark is 16 years old and a Pennsylvania Distance Learning Charter School student; he is in the 11th grade. He attends Pioneer Baptist Church in Jermyn where he has graced the members with his playing at Christmas and as an accompanist to the Youth Group Choir. Mark was awarded the 2009 Above and Beyond Award at Love The Arts! School of Music and a Christian camper award at Young Ambassador’s Camp. Mark’s favorite song is “I Have Been Blessed” and he is a huge sports fan.
December 2009 Student of the Month - Rebekah Waters

Rebekahis homeschooled and is in the 7th grade. She has been playing the piano for two years. This is her first semester at Love The Arts! School of Music. She enjoys playing Christmas songs and performed in this year's Christmas concert at Love The Arts! School of Music. When she is not playing piano, she enjoys doing things with her sister and participating in her church's youth group. This year she played soccer and loved it!
November 2009 Student of the Month - Anthony Lima

Anthony is 7 years old and has been studying and playing piano for 2 years under Philip Mancini at Love The Arts! School of Music.He is in the 2nd grade at Riverside Elementary. Anthony has obtained many musical accolades in his short time as a musician. He was February 2008’s Student of The Month at Love The Arts! School of Music. Anthony has participated in two master classes, “All Together Now” and “Perfect & Relative Pitch”. And, he has performed at the Agape Christian Church and will perform in this year’s Love The Arts! Christmas Concert. His favorite piece to perform is “Joy to the World”. Anthony collects necklaces from Brazil which his grandfather sends.

October 2009 Student of the Month - Rachel Beers

Rachel has been a violin student since August 2009. She works at Head to Toe Salon & Spa. Rachel enjoys listening to Cold Play, MUSE & Casting Crowns. Her favorite song to perform is The Can-Can. Her sister, Meme, enjoys accompanying Rachel to lessons. Rachel is a very active member of the Grace Fellowship Church in Tunkhannock; she participates in individual and group Bible studies and attends Stronghold, a young adult's group. Rachel has two pets—Pippin, a chinchilla and Lilo the cat.

September 2009 Student of the Month - Richie Cornwall

Richie Cornwallhas been playing trumpet for 5 months. He will be 11 years old on the 15th of October and is homeschooled where he is in the 5th grade. Richie's interests include building robots, attending Boy Scout and Awana Club meetings. His favorite songs are the “Banana Boat Song” and “Trust & Obey”. Richie will perform in his church’s Christmas play this year and also enjoys playing his trumpet for family and friends.
August 2009 Student of the Month - Emmet Nealon

Emmet Nealon began as a mandolin student and studied mandolin for three years before taking up the electric bass. He has been playing bass for 1 year. Emmet is 14 years old and attends Scranton Prep where he is in the 9th grade. He was previously awarded Student of The Month in August of 2007. Emmet is an avid baseball player; he traveled to Myrtle Beach this year to play and is a center fielder for the Scranton Miners. His favorite team is The Phillies. Emmet's favorite song is Reptilia and his favorite band is the Strokes. He is looking forward to starting his own band.

There will be a mandatory attendance for the dress rehearsal Saturday December 5 from 10am till Noon, may be later depending on how it goes. Joel has been a student at Love The Arts! School of Music, studying under Mr. Philip Mancini, since 2003; he sings and plays piano and trumpet. He is 16 years old and a 12th grade homeschooled student. Joel enjoys playing at church each month; his favorite song is “In the Mood” by Glenn Miller. Joel participates in many church and political activities and plans on taking courses at Penn State throughout his final year of high school. This is Joel’s 4th time as a student of the month; his previous awards came in April 2003, March 2006, and March 2008.
May 2009 Student of the Month - Robert Wormuth

Robert has been a guitar student at Love The Arts! School of Music under Mr. Mancini since May 2008. He is 10 years old and in the 4th grade at Old Forge Elementary School. Robert enjoys playing pop and rock music; his favorite band is All American Rejects. He has performed in the Old Forge Elementary Talent Show, Spring Concert and for his family. Roberts also enjoys composing songs and playing for his brother Matthew. He has earned a green belt in Kung Fu and recently began playing the alto sax.
